Hucklebuck

Hucklebuck (named after the iconic dance) is a part immersive theatre experience set to premiere as part of Clonmel Junction Arts Festival's 2023 season. The show will transport audiences back to 1960s Ireland when showbands ruled the dance hall circuit. While emigration, catholic mores and political instability rage outside, young people found a release inside dance halls all around Ireland. Audiences will watch boy meets girl in a world where traditional values were slowly beginning to bend. The show will have a full live band, a chorus of dancers and two actors at its core.
