Seeking a better life three young women migrate from regional towns to Moscow in Post-Communist Russia. After years of struggle and disappointment in the capital they meet in the waiting room of a Russian Bride websites agency where they slowly open up to each other and share their stories.

The stories are funny, shocking and full of life. “Skolka” was researched by director Shane Dempsey with the three actors in Moscow and is based on the true stories they managed to collect from the various people they met along the way.
