The Mystery of Chung Ling Soo
In 1918, Chung Ling Soo, who had ruled the Vaudeville stage for two decades, was shot dead while performing his signature trick, “Defying the Bullets,”. Chung Ling was one of the most celebrated magicians of the Twentieth Century. Only Sarah Bernhardt and Houdini could command as much weekly salary as Mr. Soo for an engagement.
In telling the tale of the mysterious death of Chung Ling Soo, The Flying Carpet Theatre Company have created a rich masquerade fusing dance, live-music and dazzling stage illusions into a feverish phantasmagoria and a compelling story.
