‘The Well’ is a new multiscreen video and sound installation by artist Yvonne Mc Guinness. Commissioned by Clonmel Junction festival in 2016 Mc Guinness devised a performance intervention at St Patricks Well inspired by the story of Bridget Cleary. She is drawn back to the well this year with a new work that explores themes of femininity, ritual, and our relationship to place.

Working with dancer Liv O' Donoghue and the guardian of the well David Flannery, the artist combines real and ctive performances and stagings to create an immersive installation at Scot’s Church.

Mc Guinness has an interest in embodied experience of place and re-imagining the everyday by devising projects that create surreal and dynamic moments of interaction and connection to place, time and communities.
