Be part of the Action

Clonmel Junction Festival runs a volunteers' programme for enthusiastic and committed individuals who want to be involved in the festival.

The trainees' programme was developed in 2010 for the Cafés Carte Blanche project and the catering tent and it offers a unique learning and training opportunity for arts and food enthusiasts. For 2011, a production trainee programme has been added.

This year, a performer’s scheme has been introduced to cater for our growing participative performance programme which offers a choral and a clowning project. Whether you choose to be a volunteer, trainee or performer, all scheme are guaranteed to be rewarding experience.

Be part of the Experience: Volunteer (18+)

Volunteering is a marvelous way to explore possible career options, discover new talents, make new friends and develop one’s communication skills. Volunteers need to demonstrate initiative, maturity and reliability and should be available for at least 4 three hour shifts during the festival. They are required to attend an interview as well as two briefing sessions.

This year's volunteers scheme includes 4 teams:
  • The front of house/stewarding team: for theatre and street event
  • The production team, which supports the technical crew
  • The hospitality/artist’s liaison team, which looks after artists’ stay in Clonmel
  • The marketing team which distributes publicity materials and collects evaluation forms

Being a volunteer entitles you to a free festival t-shirt, access to all theatre shows based on last minute availability and access to the Festival’s late-night club, and a discount at the festival canteen.
