This year’s community banner Project is set to offer primary schools and community groups another creative opportunity to directly engage in a uniquely dynamic process of art making. The Golden Story project is devised and facilitated by artist and educator Miriam Robinson, who will personnally visit the participating groups for four sessions of 90 minutes each, starting with schools from mid March and with groups from early May. A cross community textile art project, which takes place every Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The project is aimed at adults and is suitable for all abilities from total beginners to craft fanatics. Facilitated by Aisling Egan, it is ideal for anyone wishing to learn new sewing skills or improve their current ones, as well as being a great opportunity to create something for the community while meeting new people in the friendly relaxed atmosphere of the Common Thread Café. 'City of Clowns' is an exploration of the very essence of being, in all its hope, love, fear, joy, disappointment and resilience. A sad, humorous, truthful and poignant meditation on what it is to be human. The show is directed and performed by Raymond Keane with the help of up to 50 community clowns. These will be recruited through our new performers scheme and include two clowning wokshops facilitated by Raymond and at least 2 perfomances. Read More...

Following on last year’s very popular choral project, Clonmel Junction is initiating a classical project for this year. Led by Austrian conductor Elisabeth Attl and supported by voice coach and accompanist Claire Crehane, the project will culminate in two performances, one a Schubert Mass and another with highlights from operas and musical theatre.
