Clonmel Junction Festival is a drama and music festival that has brought colour and diversity to the Clonmel community for the past 12 years,and  'programming a distinctive mix of high quality Irish and International theatre, circus, comedy and music' (The Nationalist). The Festival’s survival and indeed continued growth from a five day festival to a 10 day festival with over 70 events is due largely to the very solid support it receives from local audiences combined with consistent sponsorship from local business and industry, be it cash contributions or in-kind benefits.

Central to this cross-community support lies a diverse programme aspiring to embrace an increasingly diverse society across the age-spectrum. Another strong element of this local buy-in has been the build-up of a Participation Programme, an extensive community and schools visual arts programme, which has involved several hundred children to date, as well as many young people and adults. This programme, offered for a nominal sum to schools and community groups, has grown from strength to strength and is now an integral part of the festival’s make-up, as each year the resulting artworks decorate the streets of Clonmel with colourful banners and exhibits throughout the build-up period to and during the Festival.

For a town with no committed performing arts venue Clonmel punches well above its weight with one particularly vibrant festival for nine days in July.... Junction’s eye for what’s cool and how to bring things together, it’s a festival that joins at the hip.
